Fear – Morille

Performance done by me and by a Shelter Home woman resident. The action
happened in 2009, in a small town called Morille, near Salamanca, Spain.
The performance was done inside the cemitery Cementerio de los Artistas.
I had received a proposal to bury a work. Thinking about the concept of my own work, I decided to bury a white frame with the word “Miedo”, which means “fear”, embroyded in red.
The frame was buried inside a tin box and covered with earth. Above the earth there
was a plate with the epitaph: “Que descanses en ti y en nosotras también” (May it rest in you and in us too).
The idea is that in the moment that fear metaphorically dies and is buried, it symbolically dies inside all of us.
